At Grange Primary School, we are proud to offer instrumental lessons in partnership with Ealing Music Service. We offer woodwind (saxophone, clarinet, flute), violin, guitar, piano and orchestral percussion (timpani & marimbas). These are paid lessons and take place in the school day. They rotate every half term so your child won’t miss the same lesson for the year.
The lessons are provided by Ealing Music Service and cost £80 per term (£8 per lesson), or £120 per term for piano (£12 per lesson). We offer reduced rates for families on certain benefits, please contact the office if this applies to you. Lessons run each week for half an hour during the school day and are in groups of 4 (piano is 2). Children are required to have their own instrument for all lessons excluding piano and percussion. If you need help buying or hiring an instrument, please visit the Ealing Music Service website on: Instrument Hire – Ealing Music Service or speak to Mrs Crockatt-Lane.
Please note: Children need to make their own way to the lessons, and will not be collected by their instrumental teacher. All lessons take place at the end of the Year 1 corridor in Activity Room 2, apart from percussion which takes place in the EYFS Hall.
In addition to the lessons above, we also offer free recorder lessons during the school day with Mrs King (nursery – year 1 Music teacher), and a free Ukulele group after school on a Wednesday for years 4 – 6 from 3.20 – 4.20 pm with Mrs Crockatt-Lane (Year 2 – Year 6 Music teacher). Admissions for the recorder group have closed now, but new starters will be able to sign up again in September.
